Styron’s New Book Shows “Watershed Period in American Literature”

William Styron’s new book of collected non-fiction, My Generation, “places him squarely in the constellation of writers who transformed American literature after World War II,” says the New York Times Book Review (July 5, 2015). Calliope offers unique and historical readings by many of the writers who created that transformation: besides Styron, Philip Roth, James Baldwin,James Jones, Bernard Malamud, and others.
